District 5840 Combat Human Trafficking Rotary Club was started as a Satellite Rotary Club under the auspices of The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch located in Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas in July of 2021 and was the 2nd Cause-Based Human Trafficking Club to be started in the United States and was Chartered as a Full Rotary Club on April 5, 2022. During the 9 months as a Satellite Club Jo Ann Browne, R.N. was named as the Chairperson of the Club and worked as a liaison between the Host Club and the Satellite Club. Upon Chartering on April 5, 2022, Jacqueline Parsons, PhD took over the reins as Charter President and served from the 5th of April 2022 through 30th of June 2023. Jo Ann Browne, R.N. will serve as President beginning 1st of July 2023 through 30th of June 2024.

Tom Gump was the pioneering District Governor of Rotary District 5950 to idealize that a Rotary Club could be “focus based”. “Rotary is the magnet that brings focus-based people together,” says Gump, “and all because we’re reaching out to all communities in a way we never did before.”
